FuelSure vs. Dragons Den Misfuelling Prevention Device

In our society today there is not just one type of a product.  For example with cars we have over 100 different models, and numerous manufacturers.  It doesn’t seem to matter what you buy; there is always a choice.  What does matter is making the right choice.  Too often we find that deals that are too good to be true, are.  So how can you make a distinction with misfuelling prevention devices on sale in the market now?  What is a good deal when considering cost and function?  Why might you even need this type of fuel prevention device in the first place?

To answer all of those questions it is important to realise diesel engines in Europe are popular.  In fact about 44.1 percent of the population in Europe and the UK has diesel engines in their cars.  Diesel engine nozzles are larger than regular petrol nozzles.  This means it is very easy for someone to put the petrol nozzle in their diesel tank.  It also gives way to the common problem of diesel misfuelling.

Diesel misfuelling can be quite expensive depending on when you realise the mistake has been made.  This leads us to the two products we will compare.  Currently FuelSure and Dragons Den sell misfuelling prevention devices, which help you get the right fuel in your engine every time.

Dragons Den replaces the fuel filler cap with a misfuelling device.  The device has a long tube that is inserted into the tank.  At the top of that tube is a portion to screw onto the tank like the filler cap.  Then a removable filler cap on the misfuelling device closes the tank up.  This is just one type of misfuelling device.  The struggle with Dragons Den design is in the tube which must be forced down into the tank.

This is unlike the FuelSure device.  The FuelSure misfuelling device simply screws on to the threads the old filler cap used.  There is no tube to shove into the tank, which means as soon as you remove the fuel filler cap from the FuelSure device you can begin fuelling, using the manufacturer tank design.  The tube on the Dragons Den misfuelling device could slow the progression of diesel into the tank, which would take more time for you to fill the tank than in previous times.  Sure it can prevent misfuelling, but why take away from your precious time?

With the FuelSure device you have a lid built inside that will open when the correct nozzle is used.  This will take away the confusion of trying to use the wrong fuel nozzle and help keep your car running perfectly. The device also saves you money.  When not on sale the FuelSure device is £49.95.  The Dragons Den is usually sold for £39.95, but you have to wonder.  Is the reason something with more parts is cheaper because it is made with less expensive materials?  We can’t answer that for you, but the fact is that less expensive is not always better.
